Last week, Roselyne Bachelot, Minister of Health announced the establishment of a web portal of public information on drugs, during the first quarter of 2009. The opening of this website will provide access to a database of reliable information about medicines and medical devices. The Health Minister said that this site will "allow all the French have access to the most reliable information, the most objective and the most recent drugs. " This portal will bring together all the publicly available information about drugs.
Participating in this website, the Ministry of Health, the French Agency for the Safety of Health Products (AFSSAPS), the High Authority for Health (HAS), the National Union of insurance funds (UNCAM).
Signing the partnership agreement has laid the foundations for this cooperation that will bring together on a single portal all the information publicly available about medications. This simplified access to information will benefit both health professionals and individuals.
The portal will contain the functions of each authority on the subject before returning to the "original sites" for specific information. Two domain names have already been identified but are currently inactive
